Job Summary

The Tasting Room Sales Associate is responsible for providing the best possible customer experience to all of our Tasting Room guests by developing relationships that promote sales and brand loyalty. This position is the champion of customer service in creating the perfect balance of wine education and memorable guest experience.  

This is a part-time position with predominantly week day hours.  There may be times when weekend availability may be required (generally during the summer months).  The associate also provides assistance with set-up and breakdown of most winery events.

  • Creating a welcoming environment and greeting all Tasting Room visitors with genuine enthusiasm
  • Maintaining winery image to reinforce standards of the brand
  • Lead guests through wine tasting experiences – educating them about the history of the winery and Ardon Creek wines
  • Ensure a fun, memorable and educational customer experience to build lasting relationships with them
  • Effectively suggest and sell wine, with the ability to up-sell
  • Support the team to meet and exceed direct-to-consumer sales goals

Tasting Room Daily Operations

  • Following all opening and closing procedures for the tasting room
  • Restocking of wine and merchandise from the stockroom to the tasting room
  • Responsibly pour selected wine samples for visitors according to tasting room guidelines and procedures and in accordance with laws and regulations
  • Develop basic knowledge of the wines and winemaking practices to continually promote and educate guests on the winery and its offerings
  •  Handle POS transactions on an integrated cash register and database system
  •  Assist customers to their vehicles with large purchases (Must be able to lift 35 lbs)
  •  Available to work special winery events on weekends and evenings
  •  Clean tasting room, bathroom facilities, and outdoor guest areas
  •  Quickly recognize the signs that a guest should not be served alcohol and take appropriate action to       professionally address the situation.
  • Monitor electronic retailer invoices from sales and physically pull and stage orders for delivery to retailer

 General Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age 
  • Always maintain a professional appearance
  • Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent 
  • AA Degree preferred
  • Winery experience or similar environment such as: retail, restaurant, hospitality or customer service 
  •  Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential 
  •  Cash handling experience and basic math skills
  •  Ability to follow company policies and procedures

Physical Demands

  • The employee is frequently required to stand, move or walk for prolonged periods of time 
  •  The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 lbs repeatedly
